“Insurgent,” sequel to last year’s “Divergent,” storms the Palace screen Friday, April 10 through Thursday, April 16 at 7 pm, and Monday, April 13 at 2 pm. Rated PG-13 for action violence, language, and some adult themes including sex, with a running time of two hours, this movie is targeted for the young adult audience.
Based on the popular teen lit novels by Veronica Roth, The Divergent Series holds wide appeal and resonates with both kids and adults. It works both ways – seeing the movie inspired my son to read the books, reading the books creates huge excitement for the movie release.
Following “Insurgent,” we still have the third in the series, “Allegiant” to come, which I have read will be split into two movies. To adequately cover the material? The popcorn is hot and buttery either way!
