“Victor Frankenstein” plays the Palace this week, a reimagining of the oft-told tale by Mary Shelley. Catch this classic Friday, December 18 through Wednesday, December 23 at 7 pm, and Monday, December 21 and Thursday, December 24 at 2 pm.

“Victor Frankenstein” is rated PG-13 for macabre images, violence, and a sequence of destruction. This monster drama runs one hour and 40 minutes.

Mad scientist Victor Von Frankenstein, portrayed by James McAvoy, meets a brilliant surgeon Igor Strausman (Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe) while searching for body parts at the circus. The two eccentrics partner to change the world forever, but Victor soon goes too far. Can Igor bring him back from the brink of insanity?

I know, right? Merry Christmas. Celebrate your inner Scrooge. What can I say? Frank the booker loved it.

AND SPEAKING OF CHRISTMAS

The Palace will be closed in the evening on Christmas Eve, and all day Friday, December 25.

We reopen on Saturday, December 26 with “Mockingjay 2,” the final installment in the “Hunger Games” series.

JANUARY

Opening January 1, “The Good Dinosaur” plays every evening and in added matinees for the New Year, followed by “Creed,” “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” and “Star Wars.” Check the website for the latest calendar, or pick up a hard copy at the theatre.

STAR WARS MOVIE MARATHON on SATURDAY JANUARY 23??

The all-day “Star Wars” movie marathon is still up for discussion. I’ve only had four geeks, I mean fans, let me know they are interested. Six movies at 2 hours each (an estimate) is 12 hours, plus of course the new one. That’s fourteen hours.

Let me know.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the Palace! Did I mention we’ll be giving away free Caramel Corn samples all next week? J
