The Palace is now back on its regular schedule with “My Week With Marilyn” playing Friday, March 16 through Thursday, March 22 at 7 p.m., and Monday, March 19 at 2 p.m.

Michelle Williams received high praise and was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her role as Marilyn in this movie.  “My Week With Marilyn” is based on the diary of Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), who detailed one week spent in the company of Marilyn while on hiatus when filming “The Prince and the Showgirl.”

This movie also features Kenneth Branagh as Laurence Olivier, Julia Ormond as Vivien Leigh, and Dame Judi Dench as Dame Sybil Thorndike.

“My Week With Marilyn” runs 101 minutes and is rated R.

APRIL

The April schedule has arrived!  Kids and families take note!  First up is “Dr. Suess’ The Lorax,” followed by "Journey 2: the Mysterious Island,” “Mirror Mirror,” and “The Hunger Games.”  The detailed schedule should be available online and at the theatre by week’s end.

PRAISE FOR OSCAR MONTH

Loved "Tinker Tailor," when Jen and I watched it at the Palace Monday night!  Loved it!  I think some of the other patrons were shocked and thoroughly confused, but I thought the acting, direction and script were marvelous.  If you need someone to buy the poster off you, let me know!!!

Thanks for the great variety of films.  Looking forward to "Marilyn" and "The Artist!" ~JB

Manager’s note: patrons have definitely been baffled by “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.” Following the Monday matinee every patron lingered in the lobby laughing and talking about how they just didn’t get it!  Two nights remain – are you up for the challenge?
