The LPC Womens Club "Homes for the Holidays" Tour of Homes will be held Sunday, December 8th from 4:30-7:00 pm.  The four homes and one business that will be on the tour this year are Ryan & Crystal Wisenbach, 3214 Benson Ave, Brandon, IA, Nick & Terri Donlea, 2814 Benson Shade Grove Ave, Jesup, IA (both Wisenbach and Donlea homes are in the same area and will be worth the drive), Tracey Schmitz Horne and Tim Horne, 7502 E Reinbeck Rd, La Porte City, BJ & Andrea McMahon, 12106 Kober Rd, La Porte City and Old Stone Bistro, 203 Main St, La Porte City.

Wesley United Methodist Church will host a Live Nativity performance at their location 516 2nd Ave. Vinton.Please join us as our youth along with live animals share the meaning of the Christmas season. Performances will take place in our outside stables on Saturday, December 7 from 5-6 p.m. and again from 6-7 p.m.Luke 2 Mary gave birth to Jesus and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger.

Mark your calendar for the return of Santa Paws!On December 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Santa will visit at Better Together. Everyone is welcome from the two to four legged guests from finned or feathered!Stop in for a visit with Santa and get your picture taken for $5 for a 4"X6" print or $15 for a digital copy!Better Together is located at 211 W.

Wesley United Methodist Church will hold a Christmas rummage sale in the church basement from 12-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24th .  A freewill offering will go toward church projects. Stop in when you are out and about at the downtown Christmas open houses.

On Sunday, November 24 from noon until 4:00 p.m. (or until sold out) Better Together will hold a bake sale to support the organization. Stop in during the Holiday Open House downtown and leave with a treat.Located at 211 West 4th St. Vinton.

Andrew Carnegie's Riches in Iowa: Vinton, will be presented by Dr. Shana L. Stuart of the Carnegie Libraries in Iowa Project.  Dr. Stuart will be sharing information on our library's history. This event will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.at the Vinton Public Library located at 510 2nd Ave., Vinton. The event is free and open to the public.

Join us on Tuesday, November 12 for a Game Night at the Vinton Public Library! The fun will be from 6-7:30 p.m.  The featured games this week will include: Unstable Unicorns, Pictionary, Scrabble, Scattergories.Stop in for some fun. Children under the age of 12 will need to bring along an adult. See you at the library!

Open Craft Night at the library is an opportunity for crafters to bring along their own craft project and enjoy the company of others in the library. No project? No problem!
