From 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, there will be an informational meeting on Social Security questions at the Vinton library.

Representatives from the Social Security Administration will be on hand to discuss how Social Security is an essential part of retirement, disability and survivor benefit planning. Participants will also learn how to verify earnings history and how to create their own My Social Security account on the www.socialsecurity.gove web site.

The event is free and open to the public.
