On October 11th, the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter is going to hold their first Fall Festival! The festival will start at 2 pm and end at 7 pm. The purpose of this festival is to raise money for Operation Backpack, which gives nutritional food to those students who don’t have enough at home, while having fun with the whole family!

The FFA members are planning a lot of different activities for community members to do throughout the day such as; a corn maze, a hay rack ride, a costume contest (6 pm), a pumpkin carving/decorating contest (6 pm), an apple bobbing contest (6 pm), a pie eating contest (5 pm), a hay bale toss contest (3 pm), and a relay race (4 pm), plus games and a bake sale! Tickets will be sold for 50 cents a piece and are usable at all contests and activities.

This event will be taking place in the back of the Vinton-Shellsburg High school, in the new Animal Learning Lab by the Ag room! There will be prizes for game and contest winners and remember all proceeds will go to Operation Backpack! So please, bring family members and friends and join the FFA members in a fun Fall Festival!
