Events and Activities : Party in Park Medallion Hunt returns

The Vinton Parks and Recreation Department will be starting the Medallion Hunt, once again for the 22nd Anniversary of Party in the Park.

The Medallion Hunt will begin June 12 and end on June 27. There will be 8 Medallions hidden again this year. Each family are eligible to find only one of the first seven medallions.

Everyone is encouraged to keep looking even if you have found a medallion because at that location there will be clues to find the final #8 Grand Medallion.

When you find a medallion, we need you to bring it to the Recreation Center for verification and to get your Party in the Park t-shirt and you get to keep the medallion.

The Grand Medallion winner will receive $50 in Vinton Unlimited script money for their efforts along with a t-shirt. All other medallion winners’ names will go in to a drawing on Saturday evening for an additional $50 in script money

Clues will be distributed daily beginning at 8:00 a.m. at vprdzone.com, Vinton Today at vintoniowa.org, Facebook page at Vinton VPRD , Vinton Newspapers at Vinton newspapers.com and all participating Vinton Unlimited Businesses. Dates the clues will be given out are as follows:

June 12, 14, 17, 19, 21 24, 26 & 27

Remember you can find only one medallion & the Grand Medallion on June 27th. Keeping searching to get all of the clues for the Grand Medallion.

The Rules:

· Medallions are hidden within city limits by 7:00 a.m. each day. Please respect private property when looking, there will be no medallions on residential property.

· Only one Medallion per family and possibly the Grand Medallion.

· Once you have found a medallion, you want to continue to search and compile all of the Grand Medallion clues at each site.

· Return your medallion to the Vinton Recreation Center for your Party in the Park T-shirt immediately.

· Saturday, June 29th , there will be a drawing for the 1-7 Medallion winners for the Grand Prize Drawing during evening entertainment, you must be present to win. GOOD LUCK!!
