News : Top 5 announced; VSHS to crown Homecoming King, Queen Thursday

The Top 5 VSHS Homecoming King and Queen candidates were introduced Wednesday.

'UP!' Wearing Disney outfits Wednesday were Lauren Tandy, Tyler Rippel, Bailey Fennern & Ellie Lane.

The 2014 Vinton-Shellsburg Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned on Thursday, during the pep assembly at the football field.

The seniors will vote on their choice from among the Top 5, who were introduced Wednesday afternoon.

The King and Queen candidate pictured, from left, are:

King candidates: Justin Shaw, Riley Ries, Brandon Price, Aaron Henderson and John Eden.

Queen candidates: Sydney Robertson, Olivia Oltrogge, Kylie Miracle, Ellie Lane and Sydney Bartling.

Wedneday was also "Disney/Opposite Dress Up Day," and many students wore their favorite costumes. A few dressed as members of the opposite gender.

The schedule for the rest of the week includes:

THURSDAY:

· Toga Thursday [Seniors only]/Pajamas [9-11]

· Parade – Line up on B Avenue between 4th and 6th at 5:30. Parade starts at 6:00. Parade route – 4th Street to 2nd Ave., 2nd Avenue to 21st Str. and on to the football field

o Teams are picked up at their schools [MS teams at the MS, HS teams at the HS]

· Community wide pep assembly @ 7:00 pm @ the football field

o Introduce Parade Marshall

o Pep Assembly with skits

o Introduce King and Queen Candidates and their parents.

o Crowning of King and Queen

o Powder Puff football game will follow with Seniors vs. Juniors

FRIDAY:

· Ferocious Friday (Black and Gold)

o Pep Assembly– 2:45

o Introduce King and Queen Candidates and their parents

SATURDAY:

Dance 8:00 – 11:00pm $5 Admission paid at the door Once students leave they may not re-enter Photos will be from 8-10. Photo packets can be found at the office
