Kirkwood Community College’s Benton County Center will begin offering a new instructional format this summer. The new WebLive courses allow students to take classes live from anywhere in the world.

For students who live in or around Kirkwood’s seven-county region, the option will also be available to attend the class in-person, including, at the Benton County Center.

“WebLive courses remove the barrier of transportation and distance, while still allowing students to benefit from face-to-face interaction with their instructor and classmates,” said Dean of Regional and County Centers Kristy Black. “Regardless of where the student is, they’ll have live meetings each week.”

As part of the WebLive instructional format, 8- and 16-week plans of study have been created for students to complete their Associate of Arts degree in two years.

To access WebLive courses, the student will need high-speed Internet access, a web camera and microphone and the time to commit to their education. More information about WebLive courses can be found at www.kirkwood.edu/weblive.
