For the past two years, Brendan Turner has offered Vinton residents a unique viewpoint of the city and its activities.

His drone-mounted camera has captured sunsets, football games, RAGBRAI and other moments. He took one of the very first photos of the new football field when it was completed last summer.

Brendan's most recent photo, however, was from a much lower altitude. He mounted his camera on his mortar and took a photo as he entered the gym as one of the members of the Vinton-Shellsburg Class of 2016.

"As far as drone photos, I'm going to start up again during the summer. Winter was pretty slow, but I'd like to start up again," says Brendan, who plans to work with his father in his telecom business now that he has finished high school.

Brendan's photos have been featured on the VS yearbook, as well as in Vinton Today. He has also done some photography for Benton County Conservation and other local customers.
