Saturday, December 3rd - Holiday Basketry,8:00 a.m. - ??.
Join us for another fun round of basketry as we makesnowmen, stars and miniature gift card baskets. A light lunch
will be provided. Registration required. $10.00 per item.
Cost includes all materials, instruction and lunch.
Tuesday, December 6th - Wreath Making,6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Come out to the Nature Center and enjoy the art of wreath making. We will be making grapevine wreaths and decorating them for the holidays. No skills necessary just a little imagination. If you have anything you would like to use to personalize your wreath feel free to bring it.
Friday, December 9th - (Early Out Program) Winter Wonder Crafting,2:00-3:30 p.m.
Bring the whole family to make some fun winter crafts that you can take home. These are great holiday gifts! This is a free program.
Thursday, January 12th - Full Moon Snowshoeing, 6:00- 8:00 p.m.
Come explore the beauty of a crisp winter evening. Discover the basics of snowshoeing and try it out on the moonlit landscape. Warm up with some hot chocolate afterwards! We will provide snowshoes, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have them. Registration required due to limited snowshoe size. Program will be cancelled if less than 4" of snow on the ground.
Friday, January 13th (Early Out Program) - Winter Bird Feeders, 2:00 p.m., - 3:30 p.m.
Some birds have migrated south for the winter, but there are still many birds that call Iowa their winter home. Help out by making some bird food treats for our feathered friends so they can get through the winter a little easier. This is a free program.
Friday, February 10th - Full Moon Snowshoeing, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Repeat of January 12th program. Registration required due to limited snowshoe size. Program will be cancelled if less than 4" of snow on the ground.
Thursday, February 23rd - Snowshoeing, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Repeat of January 12th and February 13th program only during the day. Registration required due to limited snowshoe size. Program will be cancelled if less than 4" of snow on the ground.
Wednesday, March 1st and March 8th - Build a Leopold Bench, 6:30-8:30 pm

The first night of class, participants will learn the fine art of pyrography (wood burning). You'll have one week to "burn" your bench parts and then return on the 8th to assemble your bench. Cost of the class is $60.00 and includes all materials and pyrography tool. This is a 2-part class and participants must attend both sessions. Registration and payment is required by Wednesday, February 22nd.
Friday, March 24th -(Early Out Program) Charcoal Art, 2:00 - 3:30 pm
Learn how to make your own fine art charcoal using household items. We will also be making some artwork with our charcoal. This is a free program.
