Krystin Ann Allen, 30, Center Point was arrested on Saturday morning December 9, 2017 at 1:10 AM and charged with several traffic offenses as well as a drug offense. At 1:00 AM Saturday morning the Urbana Police Department received a radio broadcast from the Iowa State Patrol of a vehicle northbound in the southbound lanes of I-380 at the 36 mile marker, which is north of the Center Point exit. An Urbana Police Officer spotted the vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes near the 41 mile marker and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle initially refused to stop but after a brief low speed pursuit the vehicle stopped at the 42 mile marker which is located between the two Urbana exits on I-380. The driver became belligerent and uncooperative with the Urbana Officer who requested back-up assistance from the Benton and Linn County Sheriff's Office's. Allen was taken into custody and faces the following charges by the Urbana Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff's Office: 1) Operating while intoxicated 1st offense 2) Possession of a controlled substance-marijuana 3) Possession of drug paraphernalia 4) Assault on a peace officer 5) Interference with official acts 6) Fail to yield to an emergency vehicle 7) Driving in the wrong lanes 8) Fail to give notice of address change Allen was released the following morning from the Benton County Jail following an initial appearance. -- Information provided by Urbana Police Chief Jerry Michael.
