News : Cold continues; local garbage service delayed

The bitterly cold conditions continue, causing many vehicles to not start. Among those vehicles: Garbage trucks that serve Vinton. Herb's Garbage Hauling has announced this morning that pick-up of trash and recyled materials will be an extra day late due to trucks not starting on Tuesday. The temperature was around 15 below at 9 a.m. but expected to rise to 6 or so by 4. Lows were below 20 below on Tuesday and are predicted to be around 10 below for the next couple of days.
