Students in Mr. Burow’s Science class are treated to a first-hand inspection of a working bee colony, thanks to a presentation by Vinton bee-keeper Stan Geiken. The students, members of Vinton-Shellsburg’s Alternative Education program at West Campus, learned to recognize different traits and roles of queen, drone, and worker bees.
