Drew Wiley, who will begin his sophomore season in the fall as a Kansas State University Animal Sciences and Industry major and Wildcat defensive lineman, has been recognized for his achievements as a freshman in the KSU classrooms.
Wiley, a 2017 Vinton-Shellsburg graduate, was one of 32 KSU students named to the Big 12 Conference’s Academic All-Rookie team for the 2017-18 school year.
To earn this honor, a student-athlete must be an incoming freshman, completed 24 hours of non-remedial course work and achieve a 3.0 GPA or better. In addition, the student-athlete must have played in at least one of their team’s scheduled games and been a member of the team for their respective sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
Wiley, the son of Todd and Denise Wiley, is working for a spot as a starter on the Wildcat defensive line.
