[caption id="attachment_21807" align="alignleft" width="300"] 2017 Fair Queen Katy Ward with four of the candidates who helped with Party in the Park events on Thursday.[/caption] The Benton County Fair begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, with the judging of hundreds of projects, with judging of Cloverbud projects beginning an hour later. This year's Fair comes about three weeks earlier than usual, due to the Benton County Fair Board's ability to schedule the midway rides and games provider. Livestock check-in begins at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Benton County Fair Queen will be crowned on the traditional day, but an earlier time, at 5 p.m. on Thursday. See the Benton County 4H/Fair Facebook page HERE. There will be a variety of fun events for fair-goers, including a petting zoo. At 10 a.m. on Friday, in the horse arena, there will be a cookie stacking contest, followed by a pie-eating contest at noon. Grandstand events: While the week will include the Deery Summer Series racing on Thursday, the Night of Destruction on Friday and the Jerry Stanley Memorial Demo Derby on Saturday, there will be no races on Sunday; the Hogan Memorial will take place Tuesday, July 3. See the grandstand entertainment schedule here: Fair2018
