Today Rep. Dawn Pettengill (R-Mount Auburn) released information regarding the annual Iowa Sales Tax Holiday, which runs August 3-4.  During this time, no sales tax will be collected on select clothing or footwear with a selling price of less than $100 per item.

“With the school year quickly approaching, Iowa families should take advantage of the tax free weekend because it is  a great opportunity to do some back-to-school shopping while also saving money,” said Pettengill.

All businesses open on August 3 and 4 are required to participate, though the holiday does not extend to Sunday.
