The Vinton Sesquicentennial Committee will be holding the first of three open houses to gather historical information about Vinton and its various aspects at 6:30 p.m Tuesday, Sept. 18. The meeting will take place at the 2019 Headquarters at the Sherman Building  303 First Avenue in Vinton. Potential topics include baseball in Vinton, the history of Sweet Corn Days or passenger or freight rail service to town, or other topics. Information gathered from these meetings may appear in a variety of forms from the murals painted by the Wall Dogs, or 150th year publications. Meetings will also take place on Oct. 16 and Nov. 13.
