News : VPRD Welcomes New Assistant Director

The Vinton Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the newest member to our team. Aaron Hughes has been hired as our department’s new Assistant Director. Aaron began work with our department on March 4^th. He has been working diligently over the last couple of months acclimating himself to the community and many of you may have seen him out and about as he has been very busy.

The city of Vinton is very lucky to have someone with Aaron’s experience and passion for programming and special events. Aaron brings with him vast experience from Parks and Recreation work in the Des Moines metro area and most recently as the Recreation Coordinator in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.

Aaron brings with him to Vinton his wife Becca, who works in Cedar Rapids for REM. They are both extremely excited to be here and become a part of our phenomenal community.
