The George G Lucky American Legion Auxiliary Post 57 of Vinton, Iowa recently donated funds in the amount of $11,919.90 to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa for the purchase of three Blanket Warmer Cabinets.

This project was supported by a grant from the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation. These blanket warmers will be used in the residential facilities for the benefit of the residents. The Iowa Veterans Home was seeking the new Blanket Warmers as their current warmers have reached the end of their life cycle and replacing them is essential to continue providing comfort and care to the residents at the IVH. A warm blanket helps reduce shivering, provides comfort and protection, and alleviates both physical and psychological stress to the residents at the Iowa Veterans Home.

The American Legion Auxiliary is one of the nation’s most prominent supporters of veterans, military and their families. The mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families. The American Legion Auxiliary Foundation and ALA Vinton Post 57 were proud to partner together with this project to provide this needed piece of equipment for the Iowa Veterans Home.
