Donald Claire King
Donald Claire King passed peacefully with his family at his side on April 7, 2022, in Sarasota, Fla. He was born in Vinton, Iowa, on Aug. 26, 1929, the son of Morris Vern and Esther Marie Glass King. He received his elementary education in one-room country schoolhouses in Benton County. He graduated from Geneseo Consolidated High School, where he played in the Iowa State High School Basketball Tournament in 1945, at which time he determined that he would become a high school basketball coach. Virginia Elizabeth Hupfeld died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday evening, April 12th. She was born the daughter of Emma (Gross) and Edward Wurtzel on March 30th, 1923 in rural Dysart, Iowa. She graduated from Dysart High School in 1941. She had two sisters, Lola Petersen of Dysart, Iowa, and Majorie Leise of Conrad, Iowa. They, along with her parents, and husband preceded her in death. Petronilla R. Gardner Pint Yarrington, 95, of Independence, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 6, at Lexington Estates in Independence.She was born February 9, 1927, in Gilbertville, the daughter of Peter and Anna Neisen Gardner. She married LaVerne Pint on August 31, 1944, in Gilbertville. He preceded her in death on 1968. She married Robert Yarrington on September 10, 1972, in Galena, IL. Max O. Kimm
