F. Frank "Frankie" Buhr, 82, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone with Rev. Dr. James Eggert officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may register at the funeral home from noon until service time on Thursday. A Memorial Fund has been established.

Frankie was born May 17, 1928 near Vinton to Oscar and Anna (Jaeger) Buhr. On August 4, 1959 he married Diana Hollingshead at Dana, Iowa.

A well known and talented musician, Frankie played for decades with the band that bore his name and with many other well known bands and musicians. He enjoyed entertaining at nursing homes and at senior citizen gatherings. On February 3, 1996, he received the KCRG TV "Show You Care Award". He also served as a bus driver for the Benton Community School District.

He is survived by his wife, Diana of Keystone; his children, Rodney (Kathy) Buhr of Marshalltown, Ryan (Amy) Buhr of Newhall, Randy Buhr of Blairstown, Cindy (Brian-Opie) Kimm of Blairstown, LuAnn Hansen (Dave Gasper) of Blairstown; twenty-two grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elfrieda Dunker of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Danny and David Buhr; and infant grandson, Angelice Buhr.
