Kathryn Ann (Kathy) Waskow

Kathryn Ann (Kathy) Waskow, 52, of Oelwein, died Monday, August 9, 2010 at Allen Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Kathy was born July 8, 1958 in Waterloo the daughter of Darrell and Judy Stainbrook Stephens. She graduated from Washington High School in Vinton. Kathy married Scott Waskow December 17, 1977 in Brandon, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband of Oelwein, a son Bryan and his wife Nicole of Decorah, a daughter Emma Melvin and her husband Chris of Belleville, Illinois, two grandsons Garrett and Leo Waskow. She is also survived by her mother of Brandon, two brothers also of Brandon: Rex Stephens and his wife Cheryl and Lanny Stephens and his wife Peggy.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father and a nephew Lane Rackle.

Her body had been cremated. Public visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo. The family will also greet friends following the service during a time of fellowship.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday at Trinity American Lutheran Church 605 West 4th St., Waterloo. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be directed to: Camp Courageous, PO Box 418, Monticello, IA 52310.
