KEYSTONE:
     Rick “Rocket” Jurgens, 53, died Thursday, October 23, 2014 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

     Funeral Services will be held at10:30 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2014 at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone with Keaton Albers officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m., on Sunday. A Memorial Fund has been established.

     Richard Dean Jurgens, known to family and friends at “Rick” was born April 30, 1961 in Vinton to Russell “Dean” and Shirley (Lund) Jurgens and graduated from Benton Community High School in 1979.

     He married Tami Carter and the couple later divorced.

     Rick had been employed as a counter top installer at O.K. Tops in Brooklyn. He was a member of the Keystone Turners and was an avid Cardinals, Packers and Cyclones fan. In his leisure he loved fishing and camping.

     Rick is survived by his mother, Shirley Jurgens of Keystone; his daughters, Andrea Jurgens and fiance, Mike Mussman of Elberon, and Becca Jurgens of Clutier; a grandchild on the way; his sisters, Kris (Marty) Junge of Van Horne, Lori (Darwin) Meyer of Van Horne, and Tracy Jurgens of Keystone; his brother, Dave (Kellee) Jurgens of Van Horne, and many nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his father, “Dean” on June 6, 2009.
