WATKINS -- Debra A. “Debbie” Manternach, 15, died Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from injuries suffered in an automobile accident east of Blairstown.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Blairstown with Rev. Brian Dellaert as celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church from 3 to 8 pm Tuesday and for an hour before mass on Wednesday. Burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown.

Debbie was born October 23, 1995, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the youngest daughter of Steve and Barb Manternach. She was a freshman at Benton Community Schools where she was active in jazz band and marching band, cheerleading, soccer and the Benton Blazers Dance Team. She was also a member of the BEHIP Horse Club, the LeRoy Luckies 4H Club and St. John’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her parents, Steve and Barb Manternach; her sisters, Jessica and Kathy and brother, David, all of Watkins; her grandparents, Paul and Elodie Manternach, Cedar Rapids, and Lorna Rieck, Luzerne.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Martin Rieck and her aunt, Cheryl Rieck.

As an organ donor, Debbie is giving the gift of life to many others.

A memorial fund has been established.
