Obituaries : Lawrence William "Bill" Bell

Lawrence William “Bill” Bell, 69, passed away May 9, 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Honoring his requests, he was cremated and there will be no formal services.

Lawrence was born January 15, 1950 in Bloomfield, IA, the son of Robert and Erma Bradley Bell. He grew up and attended school in Marion, graduating in 1969. He was married to Deborah Sue Holladay. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening and landscaping and walking his cat, Moe. He worked for over twenty years at FBG Janitorial Services in Cedar Rapids, retiring in 2017.

He is survived by his wife, Deb, Shellsburg; his children, Branda Holladay, Hiawatha, Joanna Bell (John) Gallo, Marion, Lisa (Adam) Chmielewski, Cedar Rapids, step daughter, Jami (Jay) Staggs, Woodway, TX; step son, David (Indira) Griffin, Lisbon, Portugal; three brothers, Harold, Jerry and Gene; one sister, Susan; and six grandchildren, Randall, Joshua, Elizabeth, Mark, Benjamin and Sarah.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert.
