Doris A. Holliday, of Midlothian, Va., passed away peacefully on December 30, 2021.

Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1929, Doris was the third of four daughters of Warren and Ethel Pangborn. Growing up on a century-family farm in Shellsburg, Iowa, Doris graduated from Shellsburg High School in 1946 and then Iowa State University in 1950, majoring in Home Economics.

After college, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert "Bob" Holliday and they were blessed to celebrate 62 years of marriage. Together, they had five children, nurturing a close and loving family. Doris and Bob moved their family four times with Bob's career, where each move enriched their lives with new friends and experiences. They ultimately retired to Midlothian, Va. in 1990 and became active members of Woodlake United Methodist Church.

In retirement, Doris and Bob enjoyed traveling in their motor home throughout the U.S. Canada, and Mexico. Doris was an avid reader and enjoyed a hearty discussion, especially when concerned with sharing her faith. She also loved textiles and sewing, as well as arts and crafts of all kinds, cooking, music and Bible study.

Doris will be remembered for her love of family, her enthusiasm for a good craft project, her adaptability and her quiet strength and spirit. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Bob; her three sisters; and her daughter, Sara.

Doris is survived by her children, Bob Jr., Ann Dunbar (Frank), Kathy Sours (Bill) and Steve; as well as 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Woodlake United Methodist Church, 15640 Hampton Park Dr., Chesterfield, Va. 23832 on February 13, 2022, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Helping Children Worldwide, helpingchildrenworldwide.org, or Woodlake United Methodist Church at woodlakeumc.org/give.

Interment will be in Parker's Grove Cemetery, Shellsburg, Iowa later this year.
