Constance "Connie" Andrews, 76, formerly of LaPorte City passed away in LeRoy, MN on Friday, August 19, 2022 at her home. She is now dancing in the sky and singing with the angels.

Constance, a 2x breast cancer survivor, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a year ago. Although she gave it her super hero fight, this one proved to be tougher than she is. She began hospice on June 21. Connie was able to celebrate her life in July 2022, where she said goodbye to all of her loved ones before her passing.

Constance was born on June 8, 1946 to Lucille and Donald Roney of LaPorte City, Iowa. She joined her older brother, Don, and together the family of 4 made their life in LaPorte City. Constance went to Geneseo High School and graduated in 1964, then went to nursing technician school, but was only able to complete 4 months before she met the love of her life! Her brother, Don, worked at the local gas station, and knowing Ronald Andrews was going to be there, she decided to go visit her brother. (Wink wink.) They dated for 8 short months before they married on April 24, 1965. Mom and Dad continued living in LaPorte City where they began their life together. They moved around to various cities throughout Iowa where they also had the majority of their family. They lived in Walker, Coggon, Winthrop, and Troy Mills before moving to Bentonville, then Berryville, Arkansas, where they had the last of their 7 children; Lamont Andrews (Lynn) of Lyle, IA, Bonita Kempe of Stewartvillle, MN, Anita Westrum of Chatfield, MN, Wanita Andrews (Brent of Spring Valley, MN) of LeRoy, MN, Marianna Miner (Paul) of Buffalo, MN, Ronald Andrews Jr. of LeRoy, MN, and Donita Felt (Larry) of Dexter, MN. A very fascinating fact is that there is exactly 11 years between the first and last of their 7 children. Lamont was born on February 23, 1966 and Donita was born on February 22, 1977. The family moved to Minnesota in 1984 and settled in the Spring Valley area.

Over the years, Mom and Dad have been blessed with 12 grandchildren; Elizabeth Kempe, Benjamin Kempe, Megan Heim (Nick), Marcus Miner, Britney Clark (Matt), Amanda Kempe, Marisa Miner, Hunter Myers, Garret Kempe, Jade Myers, Jake Westrum, and Hailey Westrum. They were doubly blessed with 5 great-grandchildren; Joshua, Finley, Brantley (Megan), Aria (Marisa), and Cade (Benjamin).

Mom has a great love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also has a love for animals, such as her horse, Farmer, her many dogs which precede her in death (Annie, Jake, Honey, Squire, Weiner, Precious) and her current dog, Towzer. Mom had a passion for decorating cakes and worked as a cake decorator at Don's IGA in Spring Valley for 8 years. After leaving there, she continued that passion by making cakes for brides and anyone who needed a cake. She loved her knitting, sewing, camping and spending time with family around the campfire.

Mom would like those who are able to participate in her celebration of life to stop by and have a laugh, a cry and those final conversations that need to be had. Through this moment, we will all bond together and find some closure as we experience the journey that she will take before she is dancing in the sky and singing with the angels.

Connie wanted to make a special request to all campers: If and when you choose, she would like you to have a "Camp in honor of Connie weekend."

Connie is survived by her husband, Ronald Edwin Andrews Sr., her 7 children, multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lucille and Donald Roney, her brother Don Roney, niece Brenda, and multiple aunts and uncles. Mom and Dad also suffered a miscarriage of their 3rd child, a boy whom was named Troy Frances.
