Richard "Rich" McKibben, age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.
Per Richard's wishes there will be no services.
Richard was born, on May 5, 1945, the son of Richard McKibben and Lois (Kennedy) McKibben in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from Marion High School in 1963. In 1973 he was united in marriage to Connie Knuth at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton, the couple later divorced but remained close.
Richard enjoyed fishing, cooking, golfing, playing music and listening to music. Richard was the drummer in his band when he was younger. Richard was an avid researcher and enjoyed reading from his bible and learning about different religions. He was a caring and giving person.
He is survived by his children, Cory (Leslie) McKibben of Vinton, Casey (Deb) McKibben of Vinton, and Channon (Kristie) McKibben of Marengo; grandchildren, Chase McKibben of Vinton, Keegan McKibben of Vinton, Maylee McKibben of Vinton, Austin Snead of Palo, Kaylea McKibben of Vinton, Libby McKibben of Vinton, Seth McKibben, Alannah McKibben of Marengo, and Chandler McKibben of Marengo; sister, Debbie Burgess of Marion.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dave McKibben of Cedar Rapids. Richard will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

My deepest sympathy to you fellas in the loss of your dad. Losing someone close is one of life's cruelest lessons. Wish I had known your Dad was here in town - I would have made a point of visiting him ... and you 'bout the old days. Many hugs to you and your Mom - tough time for all of you.
