VINTON: Carl "Butch" Vogt, 81, of Traer and formerly of Vinton, died April 28, 2011 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo following an extended illness.
There will be no public services.
Carl was born April 26, 1930 in Vinton to Louis and Alma (Berger) Vogt. Carl worked for several area farmers and was a former bar tender at the Ron-Da-Voo in Vinton. In his leisure he enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his brother, Melvin Vogt of Vinton and several nices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Merlin Vogt; his sisters, Bessie Uthoff, Mary Lint, Leona Horseman, Dorothy Brownfield, and Elsie McGowan.
