Michelle Lynn Havens was born on February 28, 1969 to Cheryl (Corcoran) Basso and Michael J. Havens. She was called home to our Lord, surrounded by her family on January 2, 2023 at University Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa after a battle with heart and lung disease.
For the past 20 years Shelly was a massage therapist in Las Vegas, Nevada. She like to adventure into other fields and had certifications in management, EMT, billing and coding, and loved to dabble in real estate.
Shelly was a calm soul with an infectious smile. She listened to everyone's problems and would have solutions no matter how big or small. She loved together with friends, classmates, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins on her visits to Iowa. She was a fixer and will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her father Michael Havens, stepfather Joseph Basso, brother Christopher Basso, grandparents Don and Helen Corcoran, Lilly Bowton and Jeanette Havens.
She is survived by her mother Cheryl Corcoran Basso, children Cody Steele, Sophia Rivero and the love of her life, her grandchild Matthew Steele. Her brothers Chad Havens and John (Danielle) Basso and sisters Carie (Louis Dixon) Havens, Stacey and Kelly Havens as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life at Blessed Hope Church, Vinton, Iowa on January 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon.
