Obituaries : Timothy 'Tim' Connor

Timothy 'Tim' Connor, 67, of La Porte City, died Saturday, February 18, 2023, at MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Center. He was born April 21, 1955, in Cedar Falls, son of Robert and Jeanne (Osborn) Connor. Tim graduated from Cedar Falls High School.

Tim married Mary Lou 'Ludy' Hibben in 1978, in Las Vegas. He worked for Black Hawk County in the Road Maintenance Department, starting as a grader, and then driving trucks until his retirement in 2015. Tim was a jack of all trades: including woodworking, rebuilding a Jeep, and cutting down many trees. He also spent a lot of time at the La Porte City Golf Course, and took great pride in being 'Papa' to Addison and Brooks.

He is survived by his wife, Ludy Connor of La Porte City; his son, Jake (Leah) Connor, and their children Addison (3) and Brooks (1) of Cedar Falls; his sisters: Amy (David) Nelsestuen of La Porte City, and Beth (Kenneth) Sewell of Stillwater, OK; his brother, Steven (LuAnn) Connor of Sumner; sisters-in-law, Teresa Krone of Cedar Rapids, and Kathy (Dave) Carney of Springville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kathy Winkler; and brother-in-law, Richard Krone.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 24, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church La Porte City, with burial following in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 23, at Locke in La Porte City Funeral Home from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Memorials may be directed to the family.
