Born July 8, 1955 to Duane and Marian Miller in Charles City, IA, she was raised on a farm in Butler County that she would cherish for the rest of her life. As an adult, Diane became a proud and devoted mother of two and a caring nurse. As an operating room nurse most recently at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, IA, she truly appreciated the opportunity to help others in times of need. Even when she was not working, she volunteered at a local free clinic weekly. During her breaks at the hospital, she could often be found playing the piano in the cafeteria to help brighten the days of the patients and their family members. An avid lover of the outdoors, she was always looking for the next adventure with her husband and best friend, John. Most of all, Diane cherished her family, regularly traveling long distances for the chance to spend a weekend with her grandchildren and family in Minnesota or to help her daughter with whatever she needed in Tennessee. Always happy to add to her family, Diane and her family took in several children at various times while also raising her own. She eagerly gave so much to so many with no expectation of return, and she will be intensely missed.
Diane was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall. She is survived by her husband, John Hagenow, her son, Brad Bigler, his wife, Heather, and their children, Taleigha and Nash, her daughter, Julie Walker and her husband, Jeremy, step;-son, Ryan Hagenow, his wife, Megan and their son, Sawyer, step-daughter, Kylie Hagenow and Mark Bigler, father of Brad and Julie. Other survivors include Doug and Diane Miller and family, Nancy and Kevin Fiene and family, and Stan and Donna Miller and family.
