Leona D. Reasor, 71, of Norway, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 14, at Phillips Funeral Home, 108 Fremont St. NW, Blairstown, (due to storm damage in Vinton), with the Rev. Paul Meeks officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today also at the funeral home in Blairstown. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Additional funeral services will be held at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Napoleon, N.D., at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, with Mr. Dennis Schulz officiating.
Leona was born Oct. 24, 1939, to August and Alma Kaul Lachenmeier in Napoleon, N.Da. On Dec. 14, 1959, she was united in marriage to Bill Reasor in Napolean.
Leona was a dedicated employee of Collins Radio and later Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids. She retired from Rockwell Collins with 35 devoted years of service. Leona was a worker at heart, she loved her job at Rockwell and often said she wishes she could have worked more.
In her leisure time, Leona loved listening to her husband play Bluegrass music. She enjoyed baking and cooking and was known to always put others before herself. Most of all Leona loved her children, grandchildren and especially her twin great-grandsons.
Leona is survived by her children, Julie Harmon of Shellsburg; son, William Reasor of Walford; her grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Harmon of Cedar Rapids and Jared McNeal of Shellsburg; her twin great-grandsons, Jayden and Jorden Harmon, both of Cedar Rapids; her sisters, Ruby Geinger and Kathy Lachenmeier, both of Bismark, N.D., and Margie Braun of Seattle, Wash.; her brothers, Herbert (Margaret) Lachenmeier of Velva, N.D., Charles (Deb) Lachenmeier of Mandan, N.D., and Gerald (Peggy) Lachenmeier of Bismark, N.D.; her brother-in-law, John (Cathy) Belcher of Marion; and her special friend, Joel Cronbaugh of Norway.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; her sisters, Carol Marcus and Lucille Darling; and her brothers, Walter, Gary and Jim Lachenmeier.
