Susanne "Susie" Kay Sebetka, 78, of Norway, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 1, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church celebrated by Rev. Ken Glaser. Visitation will take place at Teahen Funeral Home 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, and again at 9:30 a.m. Friday before the service at the church. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Cemetery, Fairfax.
Susie was born on October 2, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Harry Odeen and Marian (Raymond) Odeen. She graduated from Marion High School in 1965 and married the love of her life, Marcel Sebetka, on August 31, 1965, at St. Patrick's Church in Fairfax. Together, they farmed side by side and built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and devotion to family.
A woman of many talents, Susie found joy in flower gardening, playing cards, crafting-especially sewing-baking, and cooking (her potato salad was a favorite at every gathering). She was dedicated to her family and friends, and her love was deeply felt by all who knew her. A true believer in the Lord, Susie's faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Marcel Sebetka; her seven children, Diane (John) Shaw, Theresa (Dale) Shivers, Marianne Klouda, Matthew (Jenny) Sebetka, Jennifer Sebetka, Lester (Wendy) Sebetka, and Marcia (Rudy) De Los Reyes; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her siblings, Harold Odeen, Harry Lee (Linda) Odeen, Jeannie Brislawn, and Cathie Odeen; and her in-laws, Victor Sebetka, Sylvester (Evelyn) Sebetka, and Lavon Tomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, David Odeen.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, to Camp Courageous or your favorite charity.
Susie will be remembered for her warmth, her faith, and the love she poured into every aspect of her life.
