Marlene M. (Zieser) Tuttle, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Unity Point St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana, with Rev. Jim Brokman as Celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in rural Urbana. A parish Rosary will be held at 3:45 PM, on Friday, followed by visitation from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Born on September 2, 1941, in rural Urbana, Marlene was the daughter of Donald, and Mary Angela (O'Brien) Zieser. She graduated from Urbana High School with the class of 1960. She married the love of her life, Richard Tuttle, on April 25, 1960, at Spencer's Grove Catholic Church in rural Urbana. The couple have been married for 65 years.
Marlene and Richard had 8 children in ten years, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She made sure her children never wanted for anything. She was a fantastic cook and truly enjoyed feeding people at her home. She was a proud member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Marlene loved to play cards whether it was skill or luck, she always seemed to be on the winning side. After the children were raised, Marlene and Richard wintered in Texas for many years, and she also enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Ron (Brenda) Tuttle of Center Point, Rhonda Tuttle of Cedar Rapids, Donald (Shelly) Tuttle of Cedar Rapids, Darlene Evans of Vinton, Dave (Cynthia Fritsch) Tuttle of Cedar Rapids, Dianna (Barry) White of Marietta, GA; her son-in-law Scott Walters of Marion; 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 6 siblings, Patricia Seevell of Center Point, Keith (Joan) Zieser of Vinton, Duane (Judy) Zieser of Center Point, Mary Koutny of Center Point, Joanna (LeRoy) Richards Jr. of Fayette, and Roseann (Craig) Murphy of Urbana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her 2 daughters, Deb Tuttle, and Renae Walters
