Bonita “Bonnie” Joy Lankow, 83, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 after a brief illness.
Bonnie was born on July 23, 1942 in Fergus Fall, MN to Harry & Viola Martinson. She graduated High School from Rothsay, MN and then attended Junior College in Fergus Falls.
Bonnie was a loving mother and grandmother. Spending time with her 3 grandchildren was the highlight of her life. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, and playing bunko with her friends. Bonnie was always very active in the churches she attended which included teaching Sunday School and CYC classes.
Bonnie was a Home Health Aid for several years with Virginia Gay Hospital. She was a current member of the First Baptist Church in Vinton.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters Wendy Lankow of Hutchinson, KS and Dawn O’Regan (Michael Oliver) of Mexico, daughter-in-law Amy Lankow of Blairstown, IA, grandchildren Clairissa O’Regan, Mitch O’Regan and August Lankow, Sister Sharon Deitschman, brothers Ron (Nancy) Martinson and Tim (Jody) Martinson and sister-in-law Linda Martinson and several nieces and nephews.
Bonnie is proceeded in death by her parents, her son Nathan “Nate” Lankow and her brother Gene Martinson.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church 601 1st Ave, Vinton, IA with Pastor John Karrick officiating. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to The Ronald McDonald House or The Vinton Food Pantry.
There will be a luncheon and fellowship immediately following the service in the First Baptist Church basement.
