Nancy Jo Downing, 66, of La Porte City, IA, died on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at home. She was born May 4, 1959 in Waterloo, the daughter of Richard and Helen (Svoboda) Linhart. Nancy graduated from North Tama High School in 1977.
She married Roger Downing on September 22, 1984 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.
She worked as a secretary and was a member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte City. For the last 13 years, she worked as a purchasing agent for Bossard America. She took great pride in her work.
Nancy enjoyed spending time at the Casino on Fridays and her summers at a lakeside cabin in Lake Okoboji. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and adorable kitties.
Nancy is survived by: husband Roger; son, Casey (Angela) Downing of Marion; daughter, Amber Downing of Cedar Falls; son, Winston (Renée) Downing of Orlando' FL; daughter, Savannah "Miya" Downing of Colorado Springs, CO; granddaughter, Ayla Downing; sister, Gloria (Karl) Ketter of Waterloo; sister, Diane (Alan) Lohmann of Janesville; brother, Robert (Lisa) Linhart of Littleton' CO.
Nancy is preceded in death by her daughters, Brandy and Destiny Downing, and her parents.
In keeping with Nancy's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
