Obituaries : Dennis L. Stevenson

VINTON – Dennis L. Stevenson, 70, died Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton, followed by a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.

Dennis Lee Stevenson was born June 15, 1941, in Vinton, the son of Orie and Elsie Weatherwax Stevenson. He attended school in Vinton, graduating in 1961. Denny worked for Hawk Bilt Manufacturing until 1981. On September 6, 1986, he was united in marriage to Gloria Rhoads in Vinton.

Denny is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, Ken Byrn; and sister, Linda (Dan) Branscomb, all of Vinton; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial fund has been estsablished.
