Etta Lee, 94, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walford, with Pastor Don Dovre officiating. Interment will be held at the Norway Cemetery. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Etta was born Aug. 29, 1917, near Conroy, to Russell and Gertrude (Faltinson) Spurrier. On Feb. 9, 1938, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Lee at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2004.
Etta was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Walford and the ELCW of First Lutheran Church in Conroy.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Bette) Lee of Norway and Richard (Pam) Lee of Shueyville; her daughter, Linda Coakley of Ames; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Keith Young, and her sister, LaRue East.
Etta’s family wants to thank the staff of Keystone Nursing Care Center and Hospice of Mercy for the kindness and tender loving care given to her and her family members.
A memorial fund has been established.
