KEYSTONE: Ella D. Kitzmiller, 100 of Keystone died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with Rev. Richard Osslund officiating. Committal Services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday at Wyoming Cemetery in Wyoming, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday. A Memorial Fund has been established. Phillips Funeral Home – Keystone is in charge of arrangements.
Ella was born April 20, 1911 at Oxford Junction to John and Anna Holst Reimers. She was united in marriage to Merle “Kitz” Kitzmiller on August 16, 1933 at Maquoketa and they celebrated 68 years of marriage. On October 11, 2001 Merle “Kitz” preceded her in death.
Ella was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone and the Keystone American Legion Auxiliary. She will be remembered as the most loving and kind mother, grandma and friend.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Lietz of Marion, grandchildren: Dianne (Lindsay) Brown of Marion, Joanne Shelton of Cedar Rapids, Debbie Lovins and Kim Newcomb of Mississippi; eleven great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; her foster son, David (Pat) Norton of Monticello; five foster grandchildren, eleven foster great grandchildren and seven foster great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Ella was preceded in death by her daughter, LeWanda Hagberg, grandson, David Hagberg, and great granddaughter, Caitlin Brown.
