Obituaries : Inez “Iny” Greenwood

     VINTON:  Inez “Iny” Greenwood, 90 of Vinton died Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vinton.  In accordance with her wishes, Inez has been cremated and the family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth Street in Vinton.  A Celebration of Life service will be held immediately following the visitation on Tuesday.   Private family interment will be at a later date.  A memorial fund has been established. 

     Inez was born May 12, 1921 the daughter of S. P. and Mary Turley Ralston at Cedar Rapids.  Inez was united in marriage to Virgil Greenwood on February 20, 1943 at Cedar Rapids.  She worked at Collins Radio and as a Secretary for the Cedar Rapids Board of Education.

     Inez is survived by her husband of 69 years, Virgil of Vinton; two children, Sue (Randy) Eckhoff of Dike and Gordon of Vinton; two grandchildren, Molly (Jason) Dabroski of Marion and Justin Eckhoff of Dike; two great grandchildren, Addison and Emerson Dabroski; sister, Dorothy Smith of Seattle, Washington; half brother, Roger (Mary) Donegan of Cedar Rapids and sister-in-law, Evelyn Greenwood of Vinton.

     She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Donegan.
