Donald Lee Sutton
VINTON: Donald Lee Sutton, Jr., 51, of Marshalltown and formerly of Vinton, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth Street, where friends may register from 9 AM until service time. Rev. Walt Grimes will officiate. A flag presentation will be conducted by Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post # 57 of Vinton. Private committal services will be held.
Donald was born July 8, 1961 at Mesa, Arizona to Donald Lee and Francesca Rita (Garcia) Sutton Sr.
Following high school graduation he served his nation in the United States Marine Corps. from 1978 – 1981. Don was a chef, enjoyed his family and friends and reading his Bible.
He is survived by his son, Samuel Sutton of Canada; his sister, Patty Corcran of Vinton; his brother, Bill Sutton of O’Fallon, Missouri; his step-mother, Liz Sutton of Lomax, Illinois; his niece, “Mija” Michelle Lee Erickson; his nephew, “Mijo” Brandt Donald Corcran and many other nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Fund has been established.
