Jacob Gosse ended his last game with a turkey – three strikes in a row, for those of you unfamiliar with bowling terminology – and scored a team high 203 during Friday’s final home contest of the season.
Gosse and Nick Stein (198/367) led the Vinton-Shellsburg varsity boys with a 203 game/400 series as the Vikings continued their winning ways, defeating Waterloo Columbus, 2871-2447
The Viking JV team also won, 2345-1983. The girls team won, as well, 1813 to 1660.
Sam Huss led the JV squad with a 356; Alyssa Bunge bowled a 339 to lead the Vikettes.

The team also honored its seniors with a Senior Night tribute. Also, former bowling coach Duane Fisher presented the team with a scrapbook containing photos, newspaper clippings and yearbook pages documenting the history of the Vinton-Shellsburg bowling program from the 1980s and 1990s, including the 1987 state champs.
