Sports : Track & Field Day for Shellsburg students

Learning the importance of cheering for teammates was part of the Shellsburg Track & Field Day.

The Tug-of-War was a favorite activity for Shellsburg students on Friday.

The Shellsburg Elementary Track & Field Day took place Friday morning at the Karr Athletic Complex. 

PE Teacher Megan Albertson thanked the "parent volunteers, staff, secretaries, bus drivers, administrators, and especially the eager-to-learn students."  

Events helped teach a variety of participation and even spectating and included: 1.  Running 2.  Beach Ball Activities 3.  Hydration/Cheering 4.  Tug-a-War 5.  Field Events 6.  Limbo/Tag.  

The day provides students a chance to experience the sport of track-and-field and also have fun outside of the school building, said Albertson.

"Hopefully these students have a positive memory from the day," she said.
