Sports : Vikettes third at S. Tama Invite

Lauren Tandy led the V-S girls golf team, finishing third in the 18-hole South Tama Invitational. The Vikettes finished in third in team scoring.

Lauren Tandy took 3rd place honors; Olivia Walker took 7th. They each received a medal for finishing in the top 10. 

I was pleased with shooting below 400.  We shot 199 our first round and 191 the second nine.  Kaiti Kilpatrick had 15 putts the second nine for low. I thought this was a valuable experience for our team to play on this course in an 18-hole tourney; Olivia, Rachel and Brandi had not played this course before. The competition was strong and it’s good to find out how well we can match up.

We were disappointed the Prairie Invitational was cancelled Thursday due to weather conditions, so it made this experience even more valuable.

We will play May 26 in Waverly at Regional Tournaments.
