The Vinton-Shellsburg girls golf team has an alliterative goal for each of its meets: 4 in the 40s. That represents four golfers with a score less than 50 and shows consistency among the individual players as well as the team.

The Vikettes achieved that goal Thursday in their home quadrangular, winning over Williamsburg, Marion and Clear Creek-Amana.

Four scores in the forties paid off!  Vikette varsity golf took a step forward with a win at their first home meet of the season; they improved their record to 13 – 0! We knew going in that Williamsburg would be a tough competitor.  Olivia Walker repeated as medalist for the second time this season; Brandi Gerber scored her best competion round of the season.  The Tandy sisters again shot in the forties.  Olivia Ketchen, who missed several meets due to illness, had low putts with 16.

These four teams will return here for the West WAMAC divisional tournament May 2.

The Vikette JV squad also scored well on their home course.  These young ladies are steadily improving.
