Sports : Punt Pass and Kick winners advance to State Contest

This past Saturday, September 18th, a dozen Vinton youth ages 8 through 12 fought the dreary morning weather to see who could punt, pass and placekick a football the farthest.

This event was held at the V/S high school football field and hosted by the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department.

The winner in each age group and gender will now have the opportunity to participate in the State Finals on Saturday, October 16, at the Iowa State University Football Indoor Practice Facility in Ames. Those first place winners include: Jake Rake, Valerie Cox, Seth Patterson, Kort Johnson, Taylor Wheeler and Tyler Stueck.
