The Vinton-Shellsburg Viking golf team placed 8th at Spring Valley Golf Course this weekend and finished a very successful season. Tyler Stueck and Bryce Shaw led the Vikings. Tyler finished the tourney in 13th place carding a 156 for the two-day total.  Bryce Shaw played very consistently finishing with 162 for 28th place. Grant Noren finished in 34th place carding a 169. Mike DeLong placed 41st with a 171. Austin Bohnsack was 47th turning in a 173. Tanner Cummings was 57th turning in a 186. 

The course was in great shape but the golfers did have to battle through some rain during the event, and sitting through a rain delay on the second day of competition.  Webster City won the tourney for the second straight year with a 614.  West Delaware was second with a 625.  Gilbert took third with 630 and Mount Vernon was fourth with a 634.  Atlantic finished in fifth place with a 643.  Williamsburg finished with a 652 giving them sixth place.  MOC-FV turned in a 657 for seventh place.  Vinton-Shellsburg finished in eighth place with a 658.  Grinnell finished in ninth place with 661.

The Vikings had a tremendous year finishing 60-13.
