The Vinton-Shellsburg varsity baseball team won two of three games early this week and has double-headers tonight and a game at Mount Vernon on Friday before hosting rival Benton Community for a double-header on Monday. 
Coach Jim Struve summarized this week's games:
Monday---Vikings split a conference double header with Clear Creek-Amana losing the first game 2-5 and winning the second game 9-3.  Nathan Struve pitched 5 innings to pick up the Win and Scottie Wirth earned the Save with 2 innings of solid relief.  Jordan Womochil, Jared Thompson, and Nathan Struve led the Vikings with 2 hits a piece.

Wednesday---The Vikings beat Hudson 5-3 in a non-conference game at Viking Field.  Blake Bohnsack pitched 5 2/3 innings of relief and allowed no hits or runs to pick up his first Varsity Win.  Jared Thompson highlighted the offensive attack with a 2 RBI Homerun. Jordan Womochil added 2 doubles, Nathan Struve and Will Edwards each recorded 2 hits a piece.
 
The Vikings are 14-8 on the season.
